How Blue Humming Therapy Empowers Communities: A Case Study

Our partnership with Glide brings holistic mental health support to those who need it most.

Partnership

BHT partnered with Glide, a nonprofit organization based in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district, to provide a comprehensive range of mental health services.

Glide has long been a beacon of support for individuals facing homelessness, poverty, and systemic challenges.

Through this collaboration, BHT has worked to strengthen the emotional resilience of Glide’s community by implementing tailored mental health programs.

Phase 1: Identifying Needs and Developing a Program

We began by working closely with Glide’s management team to accomplish the following goals:

Collaborated to understand the unique needs of their community.

Conducted an in-depth assessment.

Designed a customized mental health support program to address these needs, ensuring alignment with Glide’s values and mission.

Phase 3: Expanding Our Impact

As our partnership evolved, we expanded our offerings to include:

Self-care programs for staff.

Helping educators and management maintain their own mental wellness.

Individual psychotherapy for parents.

Providing intensive support beyond group therapy.

Results & Future Vision

Through accessible and culturally sensitive mental health interventions, we’ve helped Glide’s community members build emotional resilience, reduce stigma around mental health, and foster a greater sense of well-being.

BHT remains committed to this collaboration and looks forward to continuing our work in creating lasting change. Together, we are empowering communities with mental health support.

Blue Humming began providing services to GLIDE’s Family Resource Center (FRC) since its inception 10 years ago. BHT’s work with GLIDE’s FRC has enabled families to come together in community for healing through the different modes of group therapy they offer. BHT has provided art, drama, and somatic group therapy for GLIDE families. BHT has also provided GLIDE staff from various GLIDE programs with clinical consultation, psychoeducation, and training to strengthen our ability to respond to the complex needs of families living in the Tenderloin. Currently, BHT is also providing individual and couple’s short-term counseling to GLIDE FRC participants, which are incredibly difficult resources to secure for marginalized communities. BHT is culturally responsive and able to bridge different communities together by providing holistic services that meet the complex needs of GLIDE’s diverse service populations. GLIDE staff and its program participants routinely report their positive experiences with BHT and share the positive impact resulting from BHT’s direct services. BHT is a strong and dedicated partner providing critical mental health services for many vulnerable families. BHT’s support of GLIDE’s families, children, staff, and the Tenderloin community is very important, and we look forward to our continued work together.
